^thanks.
I tested all the pins from every different combination. Nothing.
I cut the cover off the Charger. There were only two output wires going through the cable. There was no power to either at the charger. Conclusion- bad charger (vs, bad charging cable).
So another question. I spliced the charger cable into a spare working 5v 1000ma charger cable. The device is now registering as "charging" and has added one hour to it's calculated reserve time. There have been no explosions as of yet. In relation to this splice- my question is this. How stupid is this idea, or is it okay?
The OE broken charger list (one the back) as "secondary" as 12vdc 700ma..output, but...
This battery is a 3.6V 110mah battery. I'm assuming Lithium ion (which could be bad for what I'm doing, requiring voodoo knowledge and quantum charge cycle wisdom , as opposed to nimh).
I am also assuming from what I am reading on the internet, the computer (it's an old bike computer) controls charging like a simplified cell phone (but a more prehistoric version of such, where it has a simple timer and turns the power off after x time.
This, mind you, is internet heresay, so it MUST be correct.
I am also assuming the original power supply I cut into is so complex because it is made to run on either 110 current or European 220 current depending on which plug you put into it. I could be totally wrong. Perhaps all those bells and whistles control the Li-ion voodoo magic charging cycle.
Basically, these chargers are now hard to come by, otherwise, I'd just order a new one.
I'm just trying to not blow up the computer, or the house, and learn about this stuff, and get the da#$ computer to take a charge (which it is now registering as charging-signified by the "+" sign).
TIA
