I think it's just part of being self employed and worrying about "what if". I saw in post 14 where you mention not knowing where the next deal is coming from. That's a tough thing to overcome being self employed. You and I are the same age. I've been self employed for about 20 years and still haven't figured out how to stop worrying even though I don't really have anything to worry about. I have no debt but I still get worked up when I'm not getting inventory bought or getting a call on a piece of equipment.
I find that sometimes just taking a day or even two to step away and do things I truly enjoy helps. I'll go to my hunting property and just walk around. I walk slowly, taking deep breaths and just taking in everything around me, looking for any movements off in the distance in case a deer might pop up. Sometimes it's more a "hey, it's a nice evening. I think I'll hop in the car and go for a short drive with the top down. If you have something you really enjoy doing , make sure you make time to do it. It will help reduce the stress and clear your mind.
Something else I find relaxing, and it's kinda funny, is talking to my brother I consider one of my closest friends. We talk several times a week. Most of our conversations are nonsense and if you asked either of us what we discussed after the phone call, neither of us would likely be able to give a good answer. Sometimes just having a friend you can talk to about nothing is relaxing.
