Are you trying to remove the engine from the car without the transmission? I have heard that professional mechanics can do this, but I have never been able to do it - and I have tried. The few extra minutes that it takes to remove the engine and transmission together saves hours of screaming, crying, and yelling.

If you think removing them separately is hard, just wait until you try and re-install separately.

I definitely recommend removing them together.
