No whale thread, nothing in the sea is as

as a shark, baby sea otters come a close 2nd though
Never had a fear of sharks, just always been fascinated by sharks, if I could choose a dream job it would be a marine biologist specialising in tropical sharks. This was my favourite childhood bedtime read, not a Hollywood version of events just full of facts about shark attacks
Spent most of my childhood in, on or under the sea in the Bahamas, only saw sharks when it was either an arranged snorkel trip or scuba dive to see sharks
My brother used to spearfish there and his buddies some who were professional fishermen had a few shark stories. One even had his whole forearm degloved while holding a big snapper as he waded from the shallows onto the beach.
Another described a large Tiger as like the land had swum part him.
One guy was coming up from 100ft on a wall and a shark came for the fish on his spear, each time he poked the shark away the fish slid down the spear towards his chest. After the 3rd go the guy knew he needed to ditch the fish as the shark was starting to get a bit punchy. The shark hit the fish so fast and hard on the next go all he saw was a shower of fish scales and the fish and shark were both gone.
He also told me about the poor girl killed off Rose Island, near Nassau recently, she was snorkelling in one of his old spear fishing spots. Wasn't two sharks as stated in the press but one, that came back a few times. Very unlucky as she happened to be on the most outside of the group so got hit. The tourist boats throw all the leftover hot dogs/burgers in which cause a bit of a fish feeding frenzy. That sort of commotion is a very good way of attracting sharks.
