My aunt used t cherry pick chairs out of municipal auction lots. She found her share of Italian designer chairs that were worth real good money. Typical lot would sell for 3 bucks a chair. She turned around and sold them to a rental guy on the spot for 2 bucks each and took her 'finds' home.

I heard the guy had lots and lots of chairs and could actually rent them out theme by theme or a mix of this and that. He must have had a pretty good sized storage situation. Chair rental rates go from a buck to 3 bucks depending on the comfort and how many. The dude recovered his investment quickly. I've always considered this business model the same as a moving company. You just move your own siht and get paid.
The church pews are currently taking up one stall in my garage, and have blocked walking around my car. I will be happy when they can be sold in October. At about 250# each, it takes 2 men to move.
