That sounds like a great choice/combo.
I had a '65 Chevy Impala 2 dr when I was 16. It had a low powered 350 2bbl and a 4spd with 4.10 gears. It was fun, but not really all that fast, but even then the drum brakes sucked. I'd have really loved to have disks.
