I don't claim to know MMA guys too much but I will say that the guys and gals at the MMA gym I go to to teach wrestling (hobby) are really nice folks. The owner cant do enough to help me out with providing space basically for free.
I think a lot of people get into contact sports because they were bullied at some point so they tend not to be jerks. They get that it sucks. McGregor was probably either bullied or was a pain in the ass kid (perhaps a learning disability) who the parents needed him to do something so they signed him up for what was available. It can work out real good or real bad. He's the minority I believe.
