Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

Well......poop!

The flashing beacon power supply gave up the ghosts, finally. Was really hoping that the flashing beacon power supply could utilize one from a later/updated aeroflash unit, but alas it’s not working either. Since I peddle home in the dark in the wee hours of the day, it’s kinda important.

Purchased a new one (power supply) from a well known aircraft supplier that was in inventory but I guess it had been sitting on a shelf for so long, the internal capacitors dried out. In reading some of the reviews, I guess it’s a common issue since these things have been sitting for years.

Old

Newer, less-old

Pesky beacon

I know that the correct answer is one of these.

It’s just diverting $600 towards my needed ADS-B out device, Sentry ADS-B receiver, updated skyTec key starter, new ELT, etc...... welcome to owning an aircraft.[emoji849]
