I despise this sort of behavior, as well as the people who think these antics are cool.
They fly in the face of all values I believe in.
But hey, if you need to attend a large counter-culture event filled with low-lifes, freaks, and general riff-raff to make you feel like less of a looser, knock yourself out.
Hope this answered your question.

Literally some of the most successful people I know go to Burning Man. Highly educated. Multimillionaires. People doing really cool things for society and the world. Actually helping people for a living. Very community conscious. Burning man has something for everyone, whether you're a musician or a gearhead. Frankly...it's too expensive for riff-raff. I'm sure you meant "loser" in your generalized, baseless statement.
I've never been, but based on first hand stories from my friends, I'd like to go, if just for the people watching. (And the fabrication...it's pretty nuts all over the place I hear).
