Agreed. Retrofitting Airbags, ABS or TC would be prohibitively expensive for any car that couldn't have systems bolted on from a newer car. Ie, maybe if you had a 1995 X car, and those things were fitted to the X car in 1996, then you could maybe bolt a bunch of crap on.
Trying to add airbags, module and sensors in old cars would not only be expensive, but also highly unlikely to work as expected without extensive engineering which is not going to happen.
One of two things can happen, 1, nothing or 2 any old vehicle that doesn't have required safety items is outlawed. Then only outlaws will have cool cars.
