It likely will melt plastic parts like trim pieces. 115 degrees air temp and 250 or more on the black panels. The cabin will be a scorcher when parked in the sun for an hour for lunchtime.

I'm pretty sure this was just a show car. I don't think it's a color that BMW is going to add to their line up. As a show car that is likely to spend all of its time in convention centers, enclosed car haulers and ships, I don't think they are that concerned with "real world" scenarios.
