It was done as a costume thing back when. It's disconcerting to see people groveling and over apologizing for something they did without any idea in mind of denigrating someone else. As far as sexual advances is concerned, I turned down several women at work who made them (I understand you're going to show us your tool.) I had the philosophy of not "****ing where you eat." I took it as a sort of compliment, although that's from a male point of view.
