Still, it doesn't sound like a money problem given some of the builds there (pics in the second link). The guy doing this might find an aircooled 911 or 930 highly interesting, especially the Kermit the frog specimen from another thread !

I definitely feel there is a culture mismatch and money isn't the issue. These guys dump serious money into their cars. Some of these builds had to be well into the 6 figures. Although without a wife, family or house I would have owned multiple Enzo's, Sena's and Koenigseggs by now LOL.

Apparently one guy had over $35k in chrome on his Lexus engine alone and another built a complete Bentley Convertible out of a Ford Mustang. Even if you do all the work yourself it costs big time. I see a lot of young guys do tunes on their 10 year old VW Gulfs with mismatched paint and they will dump $30k+ into performance mods & $20k into chrome bits without blinking. Although most of what i see isn't show quality and usually they are blowing their engines up after a few months by pushing it too hard.

I agree PCA has to branch out and focus on the younger generations. Although I see a lot of youths that want to do DE and still prefer the modified 911 looking like a 911 and not something else. I believe they were attempting to branch out this with this event. The only way to know for sure is to test the waters and that was done here. I only had a few weeks to find some cars. I know if the RWB build didn't have a conflict it would have fit in better. If they do it next year and give me a bit more time to locate cars for them I will probably get some that are more to the crowds interest level. I had another outlaw build that would have been perfect but the engine had been dropped the week before and it couldn't be ready in time.
