The WW2 part of the Fort has some interesting bits still there. That portion was built using the Endicott era Board of fortifications designs with the ever popular disappearing guns.
Also the only west coast incident of a Japanese sub firing on the mainland.
Good for that crew that the fort did not respond, the subs captain had no idea what firepower he was poking at.
