What amazes me is a buddy of mine has a Pickup, with a camper shell. It is a 1980s pickup, and he put the shell on it back then. The rear glass struts are 30+ years old, and still work fine. They evidently can be made to last forever, but if you sell them, why not make them a disposable item so the sales never end.

Yeah I know. WTF Porsche? My land cruiser's rear door lifts up and I used that many times daily and it lasted almost 20 years.
