I usually have a little bit of fun with these people. Including the ones from microsoft phoning to fix my computer.

Me "I'm pleased you called. I want you to buy some insurance off me. Just one dollar." "Just tell me your bank account number and I'll take the dollar out myself - you don't need to do anything."

Then a bit later Me "JUST TELL ME YOUR F***ING BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER YOU *****."

This seems to put them off. I don't know why, insurance for one dollar seems a pretty good deal to me.
