My 1985 Schwinn Cimarron MTB/Touring project is now underway. Spent the last month fitting trinkets for touring and trying to match color. Recovered seat with new leather. All sorts of new bearings /spokes/ brakes/ fenders/ and such. Even got some leather fender splash guards (not pictured). All the bling. New Ortlieb front panniers. New surly front rack. Geometry so silly, only a middle aged old fart could love.
Just came back from the welder with some frame repairs and new water bottle mounts/mid fork carrier mounts. Usually I'd braze it myself, but no access to torch. Takes a lot of faith to hand something like this off to a stranger, but turned out o.k. Now to the backyard for complete sandblast / finishing/ and paint! (Still need sticker source.. arghh!!!)
