987 Spyder Shift Linkage Broke at Dealer. Fishy?
I have a 987 Spyder with about 20,000. 11,000 of those I put on the car.
After bringing my car to a Porsche dealer for an oil change, I got a call from my service advisor that the shift linkage broke while the car was driven to the wash station.
I drive with an incredibly light touch. I have not made a single hard shift in my time with the car nor do I rest my hand on the shifter while driving.
The service advisor said this is a common issue with 987 linkages. Is this true?
I find it improbably that after putting 11,000 miles on the car it would break on the one or two miles in their care.
Should I be suspicious that they abused the car and broke the linkage?
