Yes but in a few years it will be just me, or me and my youngest (she's 8, and will be light and nimble like her sister).

Due to access requirements smaller size boat is a must - there are a few local-ish boat ramps that are always hand launchable but for a trailer to make it it has to be within a hour or two of high tide. When I compared weight capacity to a 14' john boat, the canoe wins.

Really think the ideal situation is for me to be first in line for a second canoe at $100 (I've missed several) and do the tandem/catamaran thing.

Besides, I can't resist the redneck engineering urge and boats are a safer place to express that than firearms ...
