That must be tough glue to last in the weather and the expansion and contraction of the stones.
Our male dachshund is a short haired black and tan that has to be part lizard. He is the coldest natured dog I have even known. Even in summer he gets cold in the house. We will go outside on a 100 degree day and lay in the sun, up against the brick wall on the concrete sidewalk.
He hates cool or cold weather.
All summer long we lock to side gate to keep him out of the main back yard because he will go on hunts and get into the flower beds and cause issues looking for game. In the morning just after I start the coffee I go unlatch the side gate and he goes out the back door with me to do morning patrol and make sure his yard is varmint free, and chase off the passing lions, tigers and bears, buffalo, and wolf packs and elephant herds.
In the summer he leads me towards the back door like Lassie when Timmy is trapped in the cave again. I always ask him if little Timmy is trapped, and he runs to the back door.
Now that the weather has cooled off, little Timmy is on his own. He will go out back to look for crippled mice or squirrels just laying around as easy picking, but as soon as I come back in, he comes with me. No fun hunting in cool weather.
