I would expect so yes. It would be interesting to test my long held dear belief that driving a slower car at 9/10s is more fun than a fast car at 6/10s. I will say my '73 with a healthy 3.2 weighing in at 2174# is the most fun car I've ever driven.
The M491 on it's restoration weight loss plan is starting to feel similar. When a new suspension goes in, it may give that car a run for the money. But I know another 40-50 hp would help as well. While I love to go fast, it's the feel of driving that is most precious.
