A late season meander over the North Cascades highway... offering adventure at the price of fuel since 1972.
Goal was Slate Peak at 7440' 3 miles from Hart's pass which is the highest drive-able pass in Warshington state.
You can drive (usually) to about 7250' and hike the last couple hundred feet.

The Larch trees still holding color can be spotted from quite some distance with the naked and rather chilled eye.
It's an easy-ish 31 miles to the Canadian border from here and the northern end of the PCT
