While I have never owned one, I find it interesting that no less than Peter Egan himself bought one new, still owns it, and has many times declared it his own personal favorite motorcycle. Pretty strong endorsement.
Buells (the Sportster based ones) never did well as erstwhile Ducati competitors. Oh, they had the speed and handling, they just didn't hold up to constant, high rpm on road use. The Ulysses operates in a far different environment, wherein the deep down torque (and the very narrow platform) really shines. At least that's what Mr. Egan says.
