Good Morning Gentlemen,

Mr McLovin,

Bronzit? Hmm. I couldn’t remember the name. I did the same thing. I thought the color would grow on me, but it didn’t. I recall that it was a color that changed pretty significantly in different lights.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for the link! A very pretty 635i, to be sure! I think I’d better stick to the plan and look for a 535i, otherwise I get confused! If you see one out your way, let me know!

Greetings 908,

Boy, you really know your BMW’s! Interesting to learn about the 745.

And you see stuff in photos that escapes me! I saw that hole in the Port Huron car but couldn’t remember what goes there. It’s only been 30 years since I owned my 535… God, that’s frightening to think on!

White always works for me so the Port Huron car was attractive. My auto color preferences, white, charcoal, blue metallics, silver, are pretty boring, but their easy to live with.

The charcoal car in Chicago is gone. I’m guessing it sold quickly due to low mileage (110k). It’s too bad, I was starting to like that two-tone interior.

You asked, 'Do you plan to drive in winter?' -- Yes Sir! You can't drive where I like to go without encountering snow and salt slush! That's why I started this thread asking about older Audis. An Audi might still be of interest if I had a clear bead on which model would be most e28-like. I should have asked fanaudical that question.

McLovin wrote that he wasn't thrilled with the styling of his e28, which is fine, of course. I suspect he prefers a sleeker shape. But I always liked the blocky, upright, shape and still do. Maybe because I'm just such an upright guy, myself! Positively, rectitudinous!! :-)

Truth be told... I'm gettin' older and it'd be nice to have a car that's easy to get in and out of!

The hunt continues...
