Eh, my preference lies in cosmetic care as a priority over a carefully painted appearance.
My observation is that continual hair dying tends to result in poor hair texture. So while I'm not against it on here or there basis it goes against my preference if the hair also looks fried.
I guess it is the difference between waxing a car for maximum shine vs spray painting it poorly with a rattle can and no masking tape.
The lasting quality matters more to me.
