The UofM got rid of their pool hall which was open to the public. Nice tables, super thick slate, and low cost hourly.
I'm bummed. Except for a few crowded bars there is nothing else in the area.
"Not used much" was the excuse.

What are they changing it to?
A massive steel/glass courtyard in the center with a row of cubicles above along the edges. People always walking by. No privacy.
They are keeping the narrow stairwells. Most of the stone and old wood of these hallowed walls will be removed as well.
It's going to turn into a shopping mall food court. A chicken farm. A noise factory.
How very un-relaxing.
Some admins and their architect need a swift kick in the gonads.
