Pains me to do this as I'd never finished the project and sold my 951 earlier in the Fall. I had always loved the 944 Turbo Cup nomenclature and marking that was applied to the limited French cars and so I set out to replicate the trunk badging for my own build. I wasn't as keen on the smaller dashboard/emblem on the interior so I never attempted that size. After studying 944 specific Cup graphics and script I found as much documentation as I could and set to replicating these in 2D vector form (I have a graphics/design background) and then creating 3D models with varying filets and radius to test. I removed my factory Turbo script from my rear trunk lid and measured height, letter spacing and mold draft to duplicate with the Cup iteration.
I then had a close friend and former colleague in the auto industry use some OE studio 3D printers to print a few materials and send to me for hand finishing/application. I have 4 in total - 1 of which I chose to apply some high build Wurth (might as well stay German) primer to and start to hand shape a bit further. I've created what I consider a VERY close hand shaped smooth finish to be finalized on this sample. It needs some minor refinement before final color and clear application. I couldn't find any documentation as to the Pantone or OE Porsche color for the red used from the factory so things stalled a bit.
I would LOVE to see someone finish 1 or all of these and mount as needed. I'm not sure the OE ones are available anywhere (maybe I didn't look hard enough?) but this seemed like a more genuine attempt than I'd seen and I didn't want to settle for a vinyl decal.
Not sure what these are worth - more my time and energy than anything so likely to pass along and ship to someone who will finish and share my vision in earnest.
So $40 obo?
