My father's family was from south east New mexico. Flat prairies and it was windy there.
Every time i went to visit it was windy.
Hot and windy, or cold and windy, but always windy.
I had a lucrative chance to relocate there in the mid 80's but I turned it down because it was windy. Spoiled I know.
But at least the wind was all in one direction, they didn't have them circle winds like some other places I won't mention
