When I buy from Amazon, I'll only buy when it's sold by Amazon. Life's too short to worry about saving a few pennies and ending up with crap. I know Amazon's return policy is pretty generous, but it's still a hassle.

Exactly, it sounds like some folks think of Amazon as if it were a single store/vendor, but it's not. It's like going to a mall or flea market. You've got one building with 10,000 vendors in it (and the folks that own the building have a stall too). If you buy from the folks that own the building, you're good to go. If you look for folks that are long time sellers or are legitimate with integrity, then you're fine. If you buy from one of these guys....
