And if a motorcyclist like myself witnessed you trying to kill someone with your car, you would never get the opportunity to "do the time". I would put a bullet in your head without hesitation.
As well he should have been. No excuse for his behavior. It makes all of us look bad. The man is clearly a punk. That does not, however, mean he deserves to get run over.
More than just a "bit harsh". Unfortunately, however, there are plenty out there who would actually react this way, in the moment. Unable to control their emotions and think clearly, going straight into the "red mist" over any such affront. Out there driving among us...
In light of that (but obviously not just for that reason), motorcyclists like this are not just "stupid", they are infinitely beyond stupid. And extremely cowardly. Too many kick doors, smash mirrors, throw rocks, etc. because they know they can get away, especially in heavy traffic. Worthless punks, and a blight on our community. If a guy doesn't have the nut sack to get off the bike and address whoever they think may have slighted them, then eff 'em. Running them over with your car, however, crosses the line.
Pretty infamous story in motorcycling circles. The guy is rotting in prison and still showing absolutely no remorse. Again, if I witnessed something like that, I would have put him out of our misery.
Folks using their cars as a weapon against motorcyclists are a special kind of cowardly cretin. There isn't much, short of shooting at you, that a motorcyclist can do from the saddle of his bike as he is riding past you. Granted, too many cowardly cretins on motorcycles damage cars because they know they can get away. I've suffered that kind of damage to my car, as a matter of fact. Flat pisses you off, for damn sure. But it's never worth the guy's life, no matter how temporarily satisfying that may be.
