First, you should not let it get to the stage of loaded w burnt wax, (what are you using it for)?
They are for cutting only and the proper way to maintain one is to spin it slowly while putting the dull end of a tool up and down the pad, (think record player), and wash w water and mild soap when needed. I use an outdoor hose and some car wash soap, work it in w fingers and rinse completely. Then let it air dry, either outside if you’re in the warm SW or inside in a heated room if you’re in the miserable part of the country.
I assume that you’re joking about the DW or washing machine. No one is that dumb, right?
