My dad was in the Navy during WWII. Was on an LST at Normandy on D-Day. My uncle who was pretty close with him said he came back changed after that. I never talked much to him about it as it never really came up in conversation. I think he was proud that I went 1-A and was ready to go if they wanted me. But, I also think he was glad my number didn't come up. I've always wondered how being drafted would have changed me. The more I learn about our country's involvement in Vietnam the more I'm glad I didn't have to go. I don't think it would have changed me for the better.
Thank you to all the guys/gals that did go and are in service now and have served in the past.
I think too many of us take our freedoms for granted.
I went to a car show down at the beach today that is held in honor of our Vet's. This one vehicle stood out amongst all the others.
