Ours will be 47 grand.

The engine is very basic and unchanged from the designs of the 1950s. It is fuel injected so that is new from the original design. And it has twin spark plugs, and dual magnetos and lots of oil. It looks a lot like a 911 engine, only designed for low RPM and the large fan is out front spinning to keep the pilot cool. If it stops spinning the pilot starts to sweat a LOT. It also cools the engine.

The valves are huge, and of course the pistons are giant.

At the last place I worked, that company owned a 1965 Cessna 206 that they bought in 1969 for $17,000. It had a factory hole in the belly for the camera system. We put 15 engines on it in the years of flying it. The airframe was closing in on 15,000 hours.

It was an old work pickup truck for the air. It was UGLY, had faded paint, and totally worn out seats. It was mechanically perfect. The main pilot for it was and still is a very meticulous guy, and he makes note of any issue, and fixes it unless it needs a A&P mechanic to fix it.
