I bought an Over The Air TV antenna for a trial on Amazon, turned out to be defective and I had to return it. Turns it they (Amazon) don't bother to test returned products (also nearly impossible) and they rely on the seller to back their products. This particular one was a previous return, never tested, apparently bought by the seller and re-sold there. I won't use them again for anything that might be returned and untested. Seller was a female in Russia, but used a California address. Go figure.
How Amazon's quest for more, cheaper products has resulted in a flea market of fakes

Was it a Prime item?
Was it considerably cheaper than other comparable items?

Even if you aren't a Prime member, only order items that would be Prime if you had it.
If the prices is a lot cheaper than comparable items, caveat emptor.
