^Totally agree.
I wish disney had a geek squad to stay true to those offshoots.
At the same time, even Lucas got scathed for his interpretation of the prequels.
(I'm an outlier- I actually thought Star wars one (episode I) and (episode III) had their strongpoints.)
When it comes to the Disney films, I have rewatched Rogue one and Solo several times for the heck of it. I have even rewatched parts of episode VIII several times, but, can't really sit though an entire showing without barfing a bit.
I guess I will plop down $5 this december to watch IX in a local rundown theater in staunton, va., which sells beer. (not because they sell beer- or that it's star wars)- but because it's a local mom and pop setup which is nostalgically so far removed from what theaters have become, it's worth the $5 just to support the local business owner.
