Aesthetics is always a consideration. ITGs offer high quality filtration with a "period correct" feel.
Perhaps the largest factor is the universal appeal of the ITG. They allow us to custom fit them to a plethora of custom intakes.
We're really happy with the way they fit on our custom high butterfly stacks.

i used to have data somewhere from another forum where a user tested it ITG/pipercross/K&N and from memory the data showed the ITG had the best flow/particle filtration of the lot- pipercross close behind.

Basic question: would the engine make better numbers WITH the filters because the filtration media somehow creates favorable characteristics to the airflow...as in, the foam either straightens it out or swirls it up? Thanks, John/CT

curious about this too, i know the stock Rx8 intake for example there is even a fine mesh or something that straightens airflow etc so could well be?
