My Brother in law just had a party at his workplace to celebrate his 45 years of working there. Is has not yet turned 65, so you can do the math on how old he was when he started working there. It is the one and only job he has ever had. He does the heavy equipment repair. They have bulldozers, front end loaders and other heavy equipment machines on the site, and he keeps the running.
The company has gone through several different owners. His paycheck just has a different company logo on it every so often.
In my entire career I have worked for just 4 different jobs. All of them in the photo industry. So I am a real job hopper compared to him. Well, OK my current job is working for myself, so 5 different paycheck sources. But now I don't get a paycheck, I just take a draw, and there are no payroll taxes. I have to file quartly tax payment on what the company is making.
And I don't count the mowing the yards as a kid as real jobs. Only when the paycheck has taxes withdrawn.
