Yea, multi story houses are no big deal as a kid. In San Marcos, TX we had a really cool OLD house. It had two basements, two main living floors, and a huge attic. Lots of places to explore and play hide and seek.
When I first moved to Oklahoma my first apartment was a $90 per month furnished garage apartment and I had no access to the garage. It was a lousy, tiny place, and I had to walk up 13 steps to get in the front door. Second apartment was a really nice place at first. It had the bedrooms upstairs. The only time in my life I had a roommate. The owner (not my roommate) was in the oil business, and when the oil bust hit, he was broke. The AC quit, and then the roof started leaking like a crazy. He had no money to fix anything. That is when I bought a house. I was not really financially ready to buy a house, but I found a nice place, and made it happen. Then I lived on rice and potato soup and had to start shoot weddings as a second job to survive.
