I'm fortunate enough to have two cars to compare shifters.
The 79SC has a 3L and std 915 trans and shift lever with fresh shifter bushings and coupler AND Seine gate shifter.I think it is a great device and adds level of precision to an imprecise shifter. It corrects the sloppiness of the 915 shifter but it is not as smothe/tight as the weave.

The Carrera (3.6L and 915 box) has the wevo setup (shift lever, weave coupling, and shift rod.)It also smoothes out/pinpoints the shifter position thru all the gears.
It is precise,It does its job very very well,I wouldn't look back.
