Have enjoyed my 915 for over 140k miles with stock (but properly adjusted) setup and have never had any problem finding/selecting the proper gear -- Sure the Wevo and Seine setups provide different feedback/etc. but haven't felt the need to change anything on my '86 targa once it was properly adjusted (that said, remember how much nicer it shifted after it was first "dialed in" by Jose at Autobahn in VA MANY years ago) I think the key here (especially for new(er) owners) is to first make sure your current linkage/bushings are in proper shape/properly set up before you start changing things.
