5 Speed 928 (especially a S4) OR a 944 Turbo would be at the top of my list.
I also recommend a Euro E24 635CSi and any turbo Japanese cars from the mid '80s to early '90s...think Supra Turbo (Mk. 3), RX7 Turbo, 300ZX Turbo etc
Nothing Italian or British comes close in that price range that is fun and fast.
