We had a rash of it in our community a while back.
Check your interior panel for the remote disable / lock feature. Part of my evening bed time routine is making sure remote control function of the opener is disabled. Often if I come home and know I won't be going back out I'll disable it earlier in the day.
Google the zip tie emergency release hack.
It's a very simple way to prevent the emergency release from being operated from the outside but does not impede operation from inside.
