Thanks for stopping in here.
The feedback so far has been extremely useful and it has been nice to see so many local TX people genuinely interested to meet up and share the 930 experience with me.
My process is pretty deliberate and the research takes a while. There is nothing worse than buyers remorse on something purchased impulsively.... for a long time I figured that I wanted to get back into Porsche ownership with something more like a 997 Turbo (6-speed manual).... but as I spent time reflecting on it, the car just didn't seem "unique" enough to me and I kept going back to the more classic air-cooled, bellows bumper designs that I've always been fond of.
I'm sure a lot of it is just the nostalgia of my youth, where those cars were the "halo" vehicles that everyone dreamed about.
At this point, I have not heard any feedback to dissuade me on a 930 purchase... and the revelation that A/C can actually be made to WORK (even in a TX summer) is a huge plus since I'd be able to extend the driving season for this car and enjoy it year-round.
Thanks again for the feedback. I'm taking note of all the members who are helping here, and I'm sure as the process moves forward I will be reaching out directly for more specific advice.
Cheers!
