One of the things I inherited from my father is a beautiful fist sized chunk of cut and polished petrified wood, the colors and variation are beautiful!
I took yet another little drive into the mountains last Monday. With a forecast of lowland fog and temps running mid to upper 30's I was confident I would pop out of it and into some sunshine in the foothills of Mt. Baker.
Baker Lake is down 27' so lots of stumps emerge along with more shoreline to explore. This late in the year I pretty much had the entire 8 mile lake to myself... found a great spot to catch the last rays of sunshine and subsequent light show.
