It’s in the BMW service manual which says to re-register the throttle after a reset or battery replacement by turning the key on, fully rotating the throttle twice and then turning the key off.
There are two potentiometers inside the TPS, one for small throttle angles and one for large angles. The procedure may be measuring the crossover point or full scale rotation, I don’t know.
I’ve never been able to measure an effect but do it since it’s in the BMW manual.
