At the suggestion of a forum member I am starting this thread , it is building a parking structure for our daily drivers . I have a man cave two car garage that I built and documented on this forum but that is strictly for man cave activities

We needed a place to park our two daily drivers under roof . So decided to add a 24 x 24 pole barn on the end of our house . The driveway already was there as previous owners parked there under a metal carport . The metal carport has been moved/repurposed elsewhere on the property . The poles extend 10 ' above ground and 3 ' in ground with two bags of concrete in each hole .
The three trusses are engineered metal and all roof perlons are 2x6's . The metal roof panels were made with a special condensation barrier on the underside to stop any drips on the interior side of the garage . It is like a felt type material but adhered to the metal as it is being made with glue and heat . Pretty neat stuff

The spot where the pole barn is almost level side to side on the front but slopes about a foot or so in the back , I am going to run a perimeter of 2x's at the bottom starting at the highest point . That 2x will be set with about 2 " exposed above grade then the balance of the perimeter boards will be set level . Then I will set 6x6's level and inside of the perimeter boards and all will be screwed together and staked into the ground . Sounds complicated but really is quite simple . Once all that is in place I will kill the grass and start the grading with my John Deere diesel garden tractor .
Once the grading is done I will compact it over a few weeks and then fill with gravel , not doing concrete just a gravel base . I will add 2x6 perlons running horizontal on the posts spaced about 2 ' apart for metal panels to be screwed to for the siding . I am going to run electric into the structure so I can have some lights and outlets . Not planning on any garage doors for now but will have an entry door leading onto the small deck going into the house . This will be nothing fancy just a plain Jane type building

It was just installed on Wednesday so the ground is still torn up from the bobcat , add to that the projected 2-3 inches of rain tomorrow and Monday it will be quite the slop bowl

Here are some pics of what she is starting out as .
