That's great - more power to you. And I really mean that. My comments are not directed at guys like you. I accept sports as a form of relaxing entertainment for a great many people. I see nothing at all wrong with that, and I'm certainly not trying to assign any sort of "guilt" to anyone who enjoys a good game. Nor would I deride anyone who enjoys watching their soap operas or reality shows. It's all just entertainment, and we each get to choose, without judgement from others, what it is that entertains us.
No, my comments were only directed about those who get so wrapped up in their chosen form or entertainment that they allow themselves to get all worked up and argue about it. To me, arguing about who is "cheating" in football, who is allowed to get away with it, and all of that is akin to arguing over who should get voted off the island in some goofy reality show. Both are controlled by their respective "producers", the owners of the league or the network or whatever it may be. They determine the outcomes to varying degrees in an effort to attract more viewers. Whatever happens is totally inconsequential beyond that. Nothing to get worked up over. That's all I'm saying.
