Back when I had a '68 Dodge Dart GT. Lost my keys somehow when I was out, way before cell phones. Took a hookup lead out of my toolbox and connected the coil to the battery and used a screwdriver to bump the starter at the relay. Had to drive home without dash lights and radio but didn't have to wait for keys... I had one on a newer car involving vice grips and a rag to fix a corroded battery cable. The rag was insulation...
