Way before days of cell phones... Driving my brother's old CJ7 across the country with junker car on a trailer behind it (that was the deal, if I wanted the trailer, I had to take the car)... Started in the UP of Michigan and by time I was at Wisconsin, no fuel gauge, no temp gauge and leaking auto trans fluid... Made it through Utah and as soon as I hit the desert floor in Nevada, boom overheated. Drained my cooler and any water I had to no avail... Then, remembered the car on the trailer and was able to puncture the lower radiator hose and drain its coolant into my cooler and into the Jeep. Eventually, made it to Vegas and bought all forms of stop leak... Took 24 hours from Utah to Redondo Beach, but I made it.
