I had many...
1. 1960 Healey 3000. Ran out of gas going up side of mountain with girlfriend. Pushed car to turn it around and went up going backwards. Glided down other side to a gas station.
2. 70 E Targa, different girlfriend... timing tensioner went, no tools. Bought tools I needed and ATF. Took apart and repaired it and drove home.
3. 67 911 Coupe, exhaust valve let go and holed a piston. Took off bad side valve covers and loosened valve adjusters as far as they would go. Drove back home that way 250 miles. Opened up engine 2 decades later. Crank, rods, other pistons and barrels were fine.
